His guidance was detailed from the beginning and his advice resulted in us selling our house in 2 days and over asking price. This was a result of Greg's guidance and selling strategy. Greg was fantastic!
His knowledge of the market and preparation work ahead of our first meeting gave me confidence in my decision to list the property with him. He was very helpful in getting my condo unit ready to be listed, including assisting with finding contractors and making recommendations on where to focus my renovation efforts. My property was under contact within days of listing. Greg helped lead me through the inspection and closing process. During the entire time we worked together he was respectful and attentive, truly a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Greg and Baird and Warner to anyone looking to buy or sell property in Chicago.
I live in California. Greg was patient with my need to grieve and take time in completing this transaction. Additionally, the agents involved arranged for me to meet the new buyers which was emotionally a pivotal point for my ability to feel good about this decision. Thank you.
He is not only an expert of current market conditions and availability (listed or otherwise), he is a great guy who I have considered a close friend for the last thirty years. One of his strengths is a massive network of Chicagoans in every useful field and price range throughout the trades.Need an antique heating plant worked on? Tuck-pointing, a true craftsman for your crown molding, landscaping; you name it he'll not only refer you, but he can get you in with whomever you need, often circumventing a long waiting list. It is not just your home with Greg, it's the community, he is a solution orientated fellow who will recommend all community services from babysitters to doctors to the best shopping, beaches, whatever. He has a unique feel for how people fit best with each other. I really love his knowledge of Chicago history too as this puts an important perspective on a property or neighborhood. He grew up in the Gold Coast, went to Latin and Northwestern among the scions of bankers, insurance, and Chicago business, yet despite this he is compassionate, a true man of the people. He treats the building custodian the same as any big wig, with respect and is regarded as a gentle man by all. Greg is also curious, he is a reader, a student, a builder and someone you should know. You won't be a one time transaction with him, he's in it for the long haul. Of course I'm a character guy, it's important to me, I value ethics, wisdom and decorum. I rarely write reviews, but like most who know Greg, I'll always sprint across the street to shake my broker and friends hand, because the bottom line is he's also most enjoyable to be around.
Astor 1A. My having known him for almost 15 years had something to do with my choice. I knew him to be intelligent, capable and kind. I thought that he would do everything possible to sell the apartment. We both understood that it had some very bad features (a metal stair case). Greg had a lot of open houses. I do not think that he could have done any more than he did. Sold!
He is clearly a master in his field and I valued his professional opinions throughout the process. Greg went out of his way to make the sale and relocation journey smooth for us. He had to deal with a not so effective broker on the buyer's side and had to pretty much hand hold him throughout the sale. Kudos to Greg for seeing this transaction through, he is definitely on my speed dial for any real estate needs in the future. Thanks again Greg and wish you all the best.
